I'm old enough to remember when it was shameful to use " lonely hearts" ads.
Life moves fast. A couple of decades later most couples meet on apps. Every other "traditional" category of meeting a romantic partner has collapsed.
Today's chart shows another huge change in human behavior:
Why it matters
Internet dating has transformed from an embarrassing novelty to the primary mode of romantic connection.
The old ways of meeting a partner — through friends, family, work, or social events — have collapsed as more and more individuals turn to the internet for love, companionship and what is now called "casual dating".
And you are now free to meet more new partners than your ancestors could have imagined.
But the abundance of choice is not making people happier. Across the West, more and more people are deleting the appsand claiming that the dating scene is hell.
Good luck out there!
